|The Farmers' Market|
Strolling around the little canals of Jordaan on a Saturday? Make sure you've got your grocery basket handy!
Every Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm, the square in front of the Noorderkerk is bursting with the colors of the Farmers' Market, offering the best seasonal crops and specialties.
Freshly-baked bread and delicious warm pancakes; home-made dutch cheese; honey, nuts, herbs and spices, are just a few suggestions for a treat. Biological fruits and vegetables of all kinds are of course at the heart of the Farmers' Market, also known as the 'Biological Market' of Amsterdam.
On the outskirts of the 'Boerenmarkt' you will also find antique and handicraft items; contemporary design; jewelry; accessories and clothing, and collectibles such as books, lp's and arthouse films.
Location: Noorderkerk, Amsterdam Centrum.
How to get there: From Central Station, it's a 15' stroll to the Noorderkerk, where Westerstraat meets the Prinsengracht; or you can take tram # 13, 17, and walk ca. 10' from Westerkerk to Noorderkerk.
