United Europe in Roemer Visscherstraat - In the Roemer Visscherstraat you can make a tour of seven European countries within a minute. In  1894 architect Tjeerd Wet Coopers (1858-1942) finished his ‘United Europe’, which is a row of houses built in the styles of seven countries: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, the Netherlands and United Kingdom.

The row starts at number 20 where you'll find a house in the German architectural style. At number 22 is a house with a French feel. Next you'll find a Spanish villa with Moorish influences. Which is followed by an Italian house in a palazzo style. House number 28 is reminiscent of Russia featuring shapes usually found in a cathedral. After Russia shows Renaissance Holland. The row of houses finally ends at number 30a with an English cottage.

Location: Roemer Visscherstraat 20-30a (near Vondelpark)
