RijksmuseumThe Rijksmuseum is the largest museum in the Netherlands and built in 1876 by architect P.J.H. Cuypers (who later also did Central Station). The museum houses a world-renowned collection of Vermeer, Frans Hals and Rembrandt, including the famous Nachtwacht (NightWatch). In addition to this collection of paintings, the museum also displays a variation of Delft Blue, sculptures, Asian art and prints.

The Masterpieces - During renovations of the main building, top works of art by world-famous artists have been brought together in a single wing of the Rijksmuseum. More than 400 pieces are on display. The 'Masterpieces' exhibit shows the very best paintings, sculptures, and applied art of the Netherlands, as well as the history of the Golden Age.
